This photo taken in late 1960] .  Merrill died on May 29 1974 in Denver, Colorado where he went for treatment. His home was in Bethany, Oklahoma at the time.. He died from Hodgkin's Disease, a cancer of the lymph system. His obituary was in the on Jun 2 1974 in Guthrie Daily Leader.

Merrill Cross Funeral Slated
Services for Merrill H. Cross, 52, retired U.S. Air Force major, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Smith Memorial Chapel. The Rev. James Walker, Waco, Texas will officiate and burial will be in Summit View cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
There will be military services at the grave.
Cross died Wednesday at Fitzsimmons Medical Center, Aurora, Colorado. He was born January 1, 1922, in Guthrie. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of major in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home in Bethany; one son, Grady H. Cross, and one Daughter, Mrs. Donna Parvar, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Hobart L. Cross and Raymond H. Cross, both of Oklahoma City and two grandchildren.

He served in the US Air Force most of his life. He was married to Dorothy Marie MORSE on Mar 17 1944 in Waco, Texas. He was divorced from Dorothy Marie MORSE on Oct 29 1947 in Waco, Texas. They remarried on Aug 21 1948.

3. Dorothy Marie MORSE Photo was born on Sep 14 1924 in Waco, Texas. The photo of her was when she was 19 years old and was published for her engagement to Merrill Cross. She died on Sep 30 2000 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Dorothy died in a nursing home where she resided for only 2 weeks. She died of uterine cancer that had spread. She was cremated on Oct 3 2002 in a crematorium in Tulsa. Her ashes were scattered behind where she lived in Park Hill, Oklahoma. Children were:
